PGPD's Inspector General Joins FBI in El Salvador on Anti-gang Initiatives

The Prince George's County Police Department's Inspector General Carlos Acosta is in El Salvador at the United States Department of State's International Law Enforcement Academy - San Salvador (ILEA).  He is assisting in managing and facilitating a workshop for members of the FBI’s Transnational Anti-Gang (TAG) Units on identifying and documenting best practices for developing actionable intelligence and for conducting investigations and prosecutions in anti-gang operations.

Additionally, the Inspector General, alongside DOJ Trial Attorney Sean Torriente (Criminal Divsion - Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Section) presented two modules: "Gang Prosecutions" and "Human Rights, Ethics, Corruption, and Collaboration".

Inspector General Acosta, Torriente and U.S. Border Patrol Agent Joe Preciado had the pleasure of presenting a mock trial to a visiting class of school children which emphasized making good decisions in life.
