PGPD Searches for Missing Child

Update: The missing child has been located and returned to her family in good health.

Sindy Espinoza

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s help in finding a missing girl. She is identified as 9-year-old Sindy Esmeseida Espinoza. She was last seen in the 4700 block of Marlboro Pike in Capitol Heights at about 7:20 pm on August 18, 2014.

Espinoza is described as a Hispanic female, 4’10”,75 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a baby blue t-shirt, and blue shorts. The missing is hearing impaired.

PGPD Investigates Fatal Crash in Accokeek

The Prince George's County Police Department's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash in Accokeek. The victim is identified as 31-year-old Andraes Lee Wagner of Sandwich Court in Crofton.
 
On August 19, 2014, shortly after 2:00 am, patrol officers were called to the 4900 block of Floral Park Drive for the report of a crash involving a single vehicle. When they arrived, they discovered the van had struck a tree. Wagner was pronounced dead on the scene.
 
The preliminary investigation suggests the van was heading westbound on Floral Park Drive, when for reasons unknown, Wagner lost control, left the roadway, and struck a tree.

Speed appears to be a factor.

Media Advisory: PGPD to Announce Arrest in Domestic-Related Homicide in Landover

The Prince George’s County Police Department today arrested Tor Chiumba Campbell of Greenbelt for the murder of 36-year-old Shauntelle Marie Lewis. Campbell, 39 years old, of the 8500 block of Greenbelt Road, was taken into custody today at his home. He’s charged with first and second degree murder as well as armed robbery.
On August 18, 2014, at approximately 9:10 am, patrol officers were called to the 6800 block of West Forest Road after receiving a call from a relative of the victim. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a woman unresponsive and suffering from trauma. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

PGPD Makes Quick Arrest in Domestic-Related Murder in Landover

Tor Chiumba Campbell




The Prince George's County Police Department arrested a suspect today in connection with Monday's domestic-related murder in Landover. The suspect is identified as 39-year-old Tor Chiumba Campbell of the 8500 block of Greenbelt Road.

On August 18, 2014, at approximately 9:10 am, patrol officers were called to the 6800 block of West Forest Road after receiving a call from a relative of the victim, Shauntelle Marie Lewis. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered Lewis unresponsive and suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. 

Campbell is charged with first degree murder and other related charges in this case and is at the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.  The murder weapon has been recovered.  Detectives believe the suspect and the victim had recently been involved in a romantic relationship. 

The PGPD would like to encourage anyone who may be experiencing domestic violence or know someone who might be to either call the police, or to dial 211 for counseling.

Leaders from the Prince George’s County Police Department and the Prince George's County Public Schools will hold a news conference to announce the launch of “Operation Safe Cross”, the School Bus Stop Arm Camera Deployment Program. The PGPD and the PGCPS are implementing this new program to protect our children as they board and leave school buses. A bus outfitted with the new equipment will be available.

Media Advisory: PGPD to Discuss Status of Amber Stanley Murder Investigation

The Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit will update the public this Thursday on the 2012 murder investigation ofAmber Stanley.
 
PGPD patrol officers responded to the 100 block of Chartsey Street in Kettering for a shooting on the night of August 22, 2012. There, officers found the 17 year old fatally shot inside her home. Detectives have been actively investigating the case ever since.
 
Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the suspect(s).

Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested
Ariel Symone McFarlin


Thanks to an anonymous tip to Crime Solvers and great police work, we've arrested the bank robbery suspect who wore all pink to commit her crimes. She's 23-year-old Ariel Symone McFarlin of 8500 block of Fieldstone Way in Landover. She robbed two banks last December - one on Annapolis Road and one on Eastern Avenue. McFarlin has admitted her involvement in both robberies.

Our robbery detectives want to make an arrest in this bank robbery too. Please take a look at these surveillance pictures. This suspect robbed a bank on August 16, 2014, at about 9:15 am. He walked into the bank in the 6300 block of Marlboro Pike in District Heights and demanded cash. The teller complied. Commercial Armed Robbery Suspects


Robbery unit investigators want to find these two masked suspects. They robbed a local food market in the 5000 block of Edgewood Road in College Park on August 15, 2014, at about 7:50 pm. If you have information on this case, please call 301-772-4905 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.

Theft Suspect


Do you recognize this suspect? Detectives with the Regional Investigation Division – Northern Region are looking for him. PGPD Investigates Single Vehicle Collision in Temple Hills

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a single vehicle collision that occurred earlier this morning in Temple Hills.

On August 22, 2014, at approximately 12:17 am, patrol officers responded to the 4400 block of Branch Avenue for a report of a vehicle collision.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling southbound on Branch Avenue when for reasons unknown, the driver lost control and rolled the vehicle before coming to rest in the roadway.

The driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries
.
Preliminarily, alcohol as a factor is not suspected and speed as a factor is unknown.

PGPD Searches For Missing Woman

Updated Friday, August 22, 2014: The missing woman has been found and returned home in good health.

Monique Robinson

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in searching for a missing woman. She is identified as 19-year-old Monique Robinson. She was last seen in the 4500 block of Akron Street in Temple Hills. Robinson has been diagnosed with mental health issues and may be in need of medication.

Robinson is described as a black female, 5’6”, 110 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.  She was last seen wearing pajamas.

PGPD Suspends Rookie Patrol Officer Charged with Assault

Probationary Officer Shakeya Walker has been suspended from the Prince George's County Police Department after she was charged Friday with second degree assault. The August 18 assault stemmed from a domestic situation while Walker was off duty. The victim declined medical attention.

 Walker has been with the department for eight weeks. She is assigned to the Bureau of Patrol, District VI. Her police powers have been suspended. The Special Investigation Response Team is leading the investigation. Disciplinary action regarding this matter could result in termination.

PGPD Investigates Murder in Oxon Hill

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a murder that occurred in Oxon Hill last night. Investigators do not believe this was a random crime. 

On August 23, 2014, at approximately 11:50 pm, patrol officers were called to the 5000 block of Glassmanor Drive for a shooting. Once on scene, officers discovered a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

The victim is identified as 36-year-old Kenneth Antoine Jones of the 2700 block of Wade Road in Southeast, Washington, DC.

PGPD Investigates Murder in Laurel

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a murder in Laurel.  

On August 24, 2014, at approximately 9:20 am, patrol officers were called to the 8800 block of Enfield Court for a body found in a bag. Once on scene officers discovered a second bag with body parts in it. Detectives believe the victim to be an adult male.

On Sunday afternoon, detectives, along with a cadaver dog, began combing through the apartment complex searching for additional evidence.  In addition, the department's current academy class will conduct a late afternoon grid search of the scene. 

Detectives are working to determine a motive and a suspect(s) in this case.

PGPD Makes Quick Arrest in Oxon Hill Murder

The Prince George’s County Police Department arrested a suspect today in connection with Saturday’s murder in Oxon Hill. The suspect is 36-year-old Antjuon Riddick of the 500 block of Wilson Bridge Drive in Oxon Hill.

On August 23, 2014, at about 11:50 pm, patrol officers were called to the 5000 block of Glassmanor Drive for a shooting. Once on scene, officers discovered 36-year-old Kenneth Antoine Jones suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Jones was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives believe the shooting stemmed from an argument between the two men. The investigation reveals Riddick showed up uninvited to a party the victim was attending on Glassmanor Drive.

Riddick is charged with first-degree murder and remains in custody with the Department of Corrections.

Armed Robbery Suspects

Our detectives are working to identify and find these two brazen suspects. They robbed a food mart on 34th Street in Mount Rainier on July 30, 2014. Our investigation reveals the two walked into the store, one of the men pulled out a weapon and demanded cash. The employee complied. The suspects grabbed items from store shelves before finally leaving the business. If you know how we can find these two suspects, please call 301-772-4905. Burglary Suspect

Investigators are also looking for this suspect. He broke into a school in Takoma Park on August 24, 2014. He made off with electrical equipment before running out of the building. Do you recognize him? If so, please call 301-699-2601 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.



Armed Robbery Suspect

This suspect wore a suit and a hat to rob a business on Old Branch Avenue in Clinton. He walked into the business on August 21, 2014, and approached an employee. He displayed a gun and demanded cash. Convenience Store Robbery

Fast Food Restaurant Robbery


These two suspects robbed a fast food restaurant on Donnell Drive in Forestville on August 23, 2014. They each had a gun and demanded cash from the employees. Thelma Geathers Ellington

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in searching for a missing woman. She is identified as 81-year-old Thelma Geathers Ellington. She was last seen in the area of Coventry Way and Old Branch Avenue in Clinton. Ellington may be in need of medication.

Ellington is described as an African American female, 5’4”, 120 pounds, with brown eyes and grey hair. She was last seen wearing a light blue shirt, dark blue pants and a beige baseball cap with the writing of “Embassy” on the front.

She was last seen driving a 2005 metallic green Chrysler Town and Country minivan bearing a Maryland registration of 00646CB similar to the vehicle pictured below.

The Prince George's County Police Department arrested a suspect in the murder of 28-year-old Jacinto Perez in Laurel on Sunday. The suspect is 32-year-old Santos Leonel Mejia-Yanes of Finsbury Court in Laurel.

PGPD Arrests Suspect in Murder of Jacinto Perez

Warrant Obtained for Second Suspect

The Prince George's County Police Department arrested a suspect in the murder of 28-year-old Jacinto Perez in Laurel. The suspect is 32-year-old Santos Leonel Mejia-Yanes of Finsbury Court in Laurel. Detectives also obtained a warrant for a second suspect. He's 34-year-old Bayron Cruz-Vargas also of Finsbury Court.  

On August 24, 2014, at approximately 9:20 am, patrol officers were called to the 8800 block of Enfield Court for a body found in a bag. Once on scene, officers discovered a second bag with body parts in it. Perez was later identified as the victim.

The suspects and victim were roommates. The preliminary investigation reveals the three men got into an argument inside their apartment that turned violent and ultimately escalated to the murder.

Mejia-Yanes is charged with first and second degree murder. He's in custody at the Department of Corrections on a no bond status. He has admitted his involvement. Cruz-Vargas is charged with first degree murder as well as first degree assault and other charges.
